The old structure of bar ends that stretch rubber to secure them is pretty unbelievable, right?
When installing, there’s zero sense of solid fit.
When removing, they don’t come off smoothly and the nut often falls inside the handlebar\u2014I bet a lot of people have experienced this??

Finally, over the past few years, this mysterious structure has been eliminated and bar end situations are becoming more reasonable.

When removing the throttle sleeve for maintenance, it’s always frustrating.
As someone doing the work, I want to minimize components that are tedious to attach and detach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GPZ 550 doesn’t come with bar ends from the factory.
It has a grip end cap that covers the opening.
Since I replaced it with Yoshimura grip rubber this time, the hole became visible.
I searched for the most understated bar end that looked original, and I found it at i love Daytona.

The design is quite subtle, which is exactly my taste\u2014very good indeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t

Since it’s aluminum, it’s not heavy.
Is there still a culture of making bar ends super heavy??
This product has a wonderful structure where a knurled anchor-like component expands and locks inside the pipe.

With this structure, attaching and removing the bar end becomes very easy.
You just loosen the bolt, tap the bolt head lightly, and it releases so you can remove it.
If you really think about workability, this structure is the most effective.

In the extreme, if you use this locking component, you could even retrofit it to disappointing rubber-fixed bar ends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With improved versatility for 14-19\u03c6, it’s a single-point lock on the back but holds very securely.
There’s something nice about a bolt that feels firmly fixed.

With rubber types, I always felt like they’d spin around or something, which felt really uncomfortable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless you look closely, it looks stock at first glance\u2014I really love it.
The understated black without any color is great.

Plus, the outer diameter is fairly large, giving it that original feel.
It’s held securely with just one bolt and is easy to attach and remove.
I have a lot of respect for Daytona for selling thoughtfully designed parts like this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turned out looking very stock and is absolutely amazing.
By the way, I don’t care about matching colors on the left and right levers, so mismatched is fine too.
With this GPZ 550, all these little parts add up to quite a bit of money.

I was thinking I’d use all the money from selling my CB 1100 SC 65,
but I’m definitely going over budget.
*I haven’t actually calculated it since it’s my own bike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re almost at the point where we can take it out for a ride (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After this, I can register it as an imported new vehicle and take it out for a light ride.
For longer trips, I’d like to replace the regulator and starter relay.
Given the age, I’m also concerned about the generator,
but I’ll adjust and work on those things as time allows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m really looking forward to seeing how different the feel is compared to the Zephyr 550.
Basically, I want to keep the original style
and turn it into a bike I can ride leisurely. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t
