Note to self.
The bottom of the intake manifold is recessed, which makes it hard to remove.
If you lubricate it and pull it out by moving the lower side, it comes off easily. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two drain bolts, and as always, it’s built in a quirky way.

What’s the purpose of this oil filter cover anyway?
Actually, this cover comes in two types depending on the bike.
There’s a recessed shape like in the image and a flat one.
The recessed type is installed on TOP, and the flat type is installed on the bottom.
Huh?? So some bikes have both top and bottom versions?

That’s quite puzzling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there’s no return on the return port side, when you squeeze the lever, the fluid sprays everywhere with a pssshhh!
It’s quite annoying and tedious most of the time.

This ZEPHYR1100 already has it installed, but let me introduce it anyway.
There’s a Honda OEM part called a master float.
The shapes are “rectangular, round (large and small), and different diameters” <\/strong>four types in total.

Basically, the rectangular one is used most often. If you’re adapting it from another bike, it’s long so cut it to size.
