It’s better to replace brake fluid every couple of years.
Even if you don’t replace it, performance doesn’t drop dramatically, but corrosion progresses.
The inside of the master’s aluminum body and lid start to get crusty, so
it’s good to refresh it along with the fluid change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the mileage hasn’t increased much from last time, I’ll do a light inspection. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just a casual check of ignition timing and RPM.
Surprisingly, many bikes from this era have tachometers that read low.
It’s a few hundred RPM, but the idling fluctuation bothers me a bit.

As for idling, setting aside the standard,
I often set it to a nice low point where the engine doesn’t rumble.
Basically, I want to run it a few hundred RPM higher to boost oil pressure a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not just levers and pedals, but the drive chain too
and things like the seat lock mechanism feel great when they’re smooth.

It’s a small thing, but smoothness really lifts your mood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I checked the fuses too. They’re in good condition, so we can reuse them.
I also checked the fuel cap.
