Now then, what’s a 550cc really like? <\/span><\/strong>I’d like to share my personal thoughts. <\/p>\n\n\n

The chassis is 400-class. Foot reach, maneuverability, weight\u2014extremely comfortable. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Larger bikes are comfortable once you’re riding them, but
the upright stance from the sidestand, the seat height when mounting, the distance to the handlebars <\/strong>and such
can feel a bit tiring. Especially so when you’re tired from a tour. <\/strong>

With a 550cc engine and 400-class chassis, you’re freed from all of that\u2014that’s the big impression. *Our comparison
A size that makes you think, “I can go somewhere without worrying” <\/span><\/strong>is what it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6-speed transmission with wide gear ratios is the biggest weapon at high speeds. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With a 550cc engine and an extremely wide-ratio 6-speed transmission <\/span><\/strong>.
Even on the highway, you can cruise at a comfortable speed <\/strong>, and you won’t fall behind large bikes on a tour <\/strong>.
*Though it depends on the person you’re touring with… <\/strong>

This is specific to the ZEPHYR550, so I can’t speak for other brands, but highway cruising was better than I imagined. <\/strong>
Moreover, even though mine has a shorter gear ratio than stock, it still delivers more than enough performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parts are extremely abundant. In terms of OEM parts, used parts, and custom parts <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kawasaki OEM parts for the ZEPHYR are still reasonably well-supplied. <\/strong>
Also, used parts and used bikes on Yahoo Auctions and such are abundant, so there’s little to worry about <\/strong>.
Reproduction parts and custom parts are also plentifully available, which is really appreciated.

For keeping the same bike long-term, parts supply is crucial <\/strong>.
With that concern reduced, owners gain peace of mind both emotionally and budget-wise <\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall. <\/strong>
Basically, “air-cooled 4-cylinder, carbureted, twin-shock” <\/span><\/strong>design is exactly my style.
Given the era, inspection worries are minimal <\/strong>, so you can own it comfortably long-term.

Also, 400cc chassis with a 550cc engine <\/strong>means it has just the right amount of power <\/strong>.
Really, a bike you can ride casually without worry is just excellent <\/strong>, isn’t it?
With parts supply nearly worry-free, you can enjoy it long-term.

Also, with abundant custom parts, you can change the look for a fresh feel. <\/strong>
A bike I’d recommend as one to enjoy casually and for the long haul <\/strong>.

If I had to keep just one bike <\/strong>,
I’d choose the ZEPHYR550 <\/span><\/strong>.
Personally, I genuinely think it’s that perfect of a bike.
It was an impulse buy, but it might be the most surprising bike I’ve owned <\/span><\/strong>.
*Since everyone’s needs are different, if you’re feeling drawn to one, give it a try as reference.
