With a 520, it’s a bit short = the nut won’t tighten all the way = if you back it off with a washer, the lock nut won’t hold.
We looked for a slightly longer bolt from a Savage 650 Bolt (10×40) Suzuki 09105-10005<\/span><\/strong>
We thought we’d order this… but the delivery time won’t make it during Golden Week.

Wait a minute… We had thin fine-pitch lock nuts in stock (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)<\/span><\/strong>

Initially we planned to spot weld plate to plate and be done…
But the bending required was so complex that it lacked flexibility.

What offers flexibility is“collar to round bar to plate”<\/span><\/strong>
The merit of this isthe contact position between plate and round bar is almost free<\/span><\/strong>

“up and down, left and right positioning and pivot angle are all free = fewer failures = the most important thing in fabrication”<\/strong>
That’s how we went about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that – boom! – it’s complete. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately there was an M8 boss right in the perfect spot~ The dummy oil cooler worked as-is too.

With the handlebar at full lock, there’s about 5mm clearance with the fork.
We left about 10mm clearance on the tank.

With velcro, there’s about 5mm of play on each side so adjustment is possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the rider’s perspective it looks like this.
Most of it isn’t visible, but the voltage and oil temperature are perfect <\/span><\/strong>I think. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
