u-fz-l\"> crush and bend this right away, it&#8217;s the worst <\/span><\/strong> case. <br><br> The damage spreads, so <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;carelessly grabbing with vise grips or locking pliers&#8221; <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-s\"> is a no-go. <\/span><br><br><br><strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;Think three or four steps ahead: what if work. <\/span><\/strong><br><br> But usually, <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;the threads seize and break&#8221; <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> <\/span> more often than not. <br> In other words, <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;galling&#8221;\u2014 <\/span><\/strong> threads welded together. <br><strong> Rolled bolts <\/strong> are already breaking, so <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;even if you create a new head with a nut, it&#8217;ll break again.&#8221; <\/span><\/strong><br><br> Lubrication is needed, <strong> but on galled <\/strong> bolts, <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> &#8220;lubrication and heat&#8221; <\/span><\/strong> have limited effect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" worst case, helicoil. <\/span><\/strong><br><br><strong> Having threads left makes it easier <span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> to center the drill. <\/span><\/strong><br> If you can keep the threads intact, <strong> the damage won&#8217;t spread as much. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"> When something won&#8217;t come loose, pick a tool that feels solid. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" class=\"swl-fz u-fz-xl\"> &#8220;thin and short&#8221; <\/span><\/strong> tool on a stuck bolt <span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> means <strong> &#8220;what should come loose won&#8217;t, <\/strong> and <strong> what shouldn&#8217;t break will.&#8221; <\/strong><\/span><br><strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"> That&#8217;s the &#8220;did I break it or did it break?&#8221; problem. <\/span><\/strong>
