class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This tool is really excellent. <br><br>The spring compressor I used to use wouldn&#8217;t stand up on its own = I had to use it on its side (at an angle) = oil would leak <br>That was pretty annoying&#8230; <br>This <strong>&#8220;Fork Spring Compressor-2&#8221; <\/strong>actually stands up! <br>It&#8217;s incredibly stable, so work goes very smoothly. <br>I could honestly make one myself, <strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\">but &#8220;buying it is faster and ultimately more economical.&#8221; <\/span><\/strong><br><br>I <strong>clearly separate what I make from what I don&#8217;t <\/strong>. <br><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\"><strong>I weigh &#8220;material costs + thinking\/ordering\/making time&#8221; <\/strong>against <strong>&#8220;product cost&#8221; <\/strong><\/span>. <br><strong>Unless I have infinite free time or I absolutely love making things, <\/strong>that&#8217;s beside the point. <br><br>Usually with the first one, <strong>&#8220;I wish I&#8217;d done it this way&#8221; <\/strong>comes up, so I make a second one. <br>Maybe I have a personality prone to infinite loops? <br>I don&#8217;t overthink store-bought items though&#8230; <br><br>This compressor is really great, but <strong>&#8220;short forks need special measures&#8221; <\/strong>. <br>Add shims underneath like in the photo. *Be sure to check the compressor length first. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly, I don&#8217;t really like fork oil changes. <br>The reason is <br><strong><span class=\"swl-fz u-fz-l\">&#8220;if the seal leaks after a fork oil change, it&#8217;s painful&#8221; <\/span><\/strong><br><br>Not that it&#8217;s about responsibility or anything, <strong>but &#8220;having to do the same job all over again is a hassle.&#8221; <\/strong><br>Of course, parts and labor costs apply as normal. <br>Basically, the fork oil change cost and time are completely wasted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Replace the seal at this time\u2014a clever tactic? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"
