At first I recommended buying Nissin instead\u2014it’s faster! Cheaper! Better? But once we disassembled it, it turned out to have aluminum pistons.
So we decided to do an overhaul and just replace the seals. That’s how it goes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poor piston operation = dust seal deformation and body corrosion <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The dust seal deforms and constantly contacts the piston, so both extension and retraction become sluggish. <\/strong>
When the caliper piston doesn’t move well, overhaul and cleaning with seal replacement <\/strong> is the only option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inner diameter is solid and the wall is thick, so I removed it with a bearing puller.
A bearing puller works better when you don’t apply it directly <\/strong> \u2014it’s gentler that way.
An inexpensive puller is sufficient. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
