I’ve finally managed to
climb up to the point where I can tackle the MK2.
*This is a customer’s bike, by the way*

Requested to clean up the breather cap nicely.
Since the material is aluminum,
wet blasting is the better way to finish.

With this kind of cardboard masking too,
I prefer to drill the holes cleanly if possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the O-rings…

The rear master is surprisingly overlooked.
When the return port gets clogged,
the brake can lock up.
It happens more often than you’d think (‘\u0414’) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finished with wet blasting.
Modern tools really are amazing.

The quality of the finish
changes dramatically depending on whether you have the right equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I check the return port
with a micro drill to verify the passage.

I’m not enlarging the hole, mind you.
I’m checking if it’s fully open.
Is there any debris clogging it?

The analog method is really the best way

When the return port clogs,

with brakes,
they drag and eventually lock up.
With the clutch,
it slips and the bike becomes undrivable.
Fluid changes and brake master overhauls are
truly essential. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t

The rear master rod
inevitably gets rusty.

I thought, is there something better?
So I did some browsing,

and found one!
It’s from another model, but the OEM part number is the same.
So I’m switching to a nice titanium rod. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old rear master cup set I removed
(junk)
This goes into our shop’s “seed bank”

For when other models have issues…
I hope it never gets used. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Request: Can we use an aftermarket handlebar?

Separate handlebars are surprisingly complicated.

Including bar-type handlebars,
the chances of a direct swap
are “quite low.”

Brake hoses, throttle, clutch cable routing, interference, length, etc.
Getting everything perfect
often means replacing everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
