Today’s Musings (‘\u03c9’<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Man, that was long\u2026\u2026. It rained continuously for about 48 hours straight, didn’t it?
Still, we made it through this time without any issues, so I’ve gained quite a bit of confidence.
If rainfall were 1.2 to 1.5 times heavier than this, we’d probably be fine too\u2026\u2026! Hehe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the key was that we implemented solid countermeasures beforehand.
That said, there’s definitely a possibility of even more severe typhoons in the future, so I want to turn this experience into lessons learned
and apply them to our preparations going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather Conditions:<\/strong> A large and extremely powerful “Typhoon No. 25” made landfall and approached closest to Chiba Prefecture. Intermittent record-breaking torrential rain and violent winds lasting 48 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three-Fold Threats We Face:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Violent Winds:<\/strong> Shutter damage and warping, collisions from flying debris like signage and roof tiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. 48 Hours of Heavy Rain:<\/strong> Softened ground, drainage overflow, risk of pit flooding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Infrastructure Disruption:<\/strong> Extended blackouts unique to the Boso area, road cutoffs from fallen trees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
