Every week I’m exhausted just from arranging incoming and outgoing bikes. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, it’s raining pretty steadily and it’s a quiet Saturday.
I’m going to install the Yoshimura cam on this familiar Inazuma 1200. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it’s “customer-owned parts.” <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Older bikes can’t be maintained without self-management.
You need to constantly keep parts on hand and keep your antennae up as much as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m the type who replaces them one at a time.
You could do them both at once, but it doesn’t really speed things up…
That’s just how it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chain guide is in good condition.
It’s still soft enough that a fingernail can dig in, so it could last longer, but I’ll replace it anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cam had scuffing in one spot.
The rocker arm was also brought in by the customer, so I’ll replace it at the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When scuffing occurs, it becomes like this: “rough and pitted” <\/strong>.
The term “scuffing” gives a really bad impression. <\/strong>

“Something gets burned and seized” <\/strong>\u2014doesn’t that come to mind?

But that’s not really what happens; it’s just that this roughness gets worse and progresses.
When it progresses significantly, the cam and rocker arm wear out and “severe valve noise” <\/strong>develops.

It’s not good, but that’s essentially what happens in the end.
Of course, as the cam wears down, the output will drop too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valve timing is adjusted to Yoshimura specs and we’re done.
We always keep the 1200 cam sprocket with elongated holes in stock.
So the work goes quickly, you see.

The cam chain tensioner gasket hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t assemble it (\uff1b\u2200\uff1b)
