Wet-cell batteries have some annoying issues.

is it okay to just swap it as is?
Wet-cell (open-type) bikes have higher output voltage, right? That’s the standard concern.

You’d need to replace the regulator before it would work properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before this affordable Pro Select battery came out, WESTCO <\/a>was what I used.

Liquid refilling is a hassle. The cap deteriorates. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wet-cell batteries constantly “bubble” <\/strong>and release gas while charging.
This gas is highly flammable “hydrogen gas.” <\/strong>
The liquid inside the battery is “dilute sulfuric acid.” <\/strong>

Is it safe? Not at all.
With old-era batteries, there are dangers and maintenance hassles that are unthinkable by today’s standards.

The breather hose is super important.

If it’s missing,

The hose has slits to release pressure.
