    The counter shaft has shallow threads.
    Plus, fine-pitch threads are used, so we use a lock washer instead of a lock nut.

    But this is the standard for this displacement.

    Bikes aren’t overly delicate\u2014they should be easy to handle and stay in good condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is kind of a side note, but…

    Spots like this would have better serviceability with hex head bolts (flanged).
    Cap bolts in tight or rear spots have poor serviceability. You want to think about how smoothly bolts come off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
