Symptoms that occur:<\/strong> Pressing the starter button produces only “whirring” sounds as the motor spins uselessly, or harsh metallic “clanking” sounds occur and the engine won’t crank. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Primary causes:<\/strong> Uneven wear on internal clutch rollers (becoming flattened), fatigue of push springs (reduced push pressure), wear on the push cap, and stepped wear on the gear hub contact surface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key to the overhaul:<\/strong> Replace the battery with a new one. Carefully inspect the hub contact surface condition, clean the fastening bolts, apply thread locker, and tighten to specification for complete restoration! <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Engine starting is like “kindling a fire”<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Don’t force the engine to start when the battery is weak<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Don’t crank the starter too long\u2014about 3 seconds is better from experience<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Turn the fuel petcock ON and wait for it to fill<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Open the throttle just a tiny bit\u2014maybe 1 degree or 1mm\u2014while cranking the starter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Don’t assume the engine will start just by pressing the button“Start efficiently and keep it running smoothly after ignition”<\/strong>
    It’s almost like kindling a fire.
    Even after the engine starts, keep your right hand on the throttle and maintain 1200\u20131500 RPM to build up oil pressure.

    As we’re handing over the bike, I quietly observe how everyone starts their engines.
    It becomes much more efficient and easier. With better starting technique and throttle control, it becomes much more enjoyable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A note about the battery being quite old.
    I think it’s worth replacing every 4 years. Batteries degrade over time, and just because they work doesn’t mean they’re good.
    Fresh batteries really do have noticeably different power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Battery anxiety has been eliminated. ProSelect AGM GEL Battery<\/span><\/strong>
    An AGM-GEL battery that can be purchased for around 10,000 yen.

    This battery is “maintenance-free even if liquid-type”<\/span><\/strong>.
    Some people occasionally buy liquid-type by mistake, but . . . absolutely don’t.
    Liquid-type batteries have almost no advantages on motorcycles, and the disadvantages outweigh the benefits<\/span><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t
