Since it’s my own bike, let me quickly get the cam installed.

This time it’s not the standard “1200-series ST-1” but the “1100-series ST-1,”
which I’ve never done before, so I’m looking forward to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I finished the head cover bolts with a round tool in one go! Then I applied gun coat for the final touch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A system you can understand at a glance is the best.

The tank seal has “the number of items to remove and a list,”
which reduces the chance of accidentally having the fuel sensor go “boing~” <\/p>*By the way, I’m in the camp that doesn’t install a water drain.\n\n\n\n

I’ve noted the position of the ignition coil and the wire color on the coil side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something only I would understand\u2014a really subtle detail.
I welded a low-profile bolt and high nut together to improve the convenience of coil attachment and detachment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stock setup has you insert bolts and collars from below the coil. Installing those four bolts is incredibly tedious.
Once you do it once, the next time will be much nicer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need to strip the threads on this welded nut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When removing the head cover, this does it in one shot!

If you push the cam plug inward and lift the head cover, it’s much quicker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure to do all four spots.
No matter how stuck the head cover is, this “one-shot” method works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil-cooled head cover gasket (plug hole) contains some metal inside,
and that part often gets firmly stuck to the head side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t pull it\u2014just tap it lightly with a “knock!” and it comes right off.
It’s better to peel it off “without pulling at all.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I start with an air blow. The spark plug goes in last because I don’t want anything to accidentally fall in and win a “hole-in-one prize.”
