Well then,

the main key won’t turn off and there’s a current drain. The battery is completely dead.
I’m pretty sure it’s the key. I really hope it’s just the key\u2014like 1000% hope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

When I connected the battery, the neutral lamp turned on.

Oh? How nice. First, I’ll remove the tank and disconnect the connectors to check things out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some kind of residue had flowed in and gotten dirty, so I cleaned it up and put it back together, and that solved it.
Phew\u2014I didn’t have to replace the cylinder after all!

Still, the cylinder is pretty loose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I disconnected the terminal and checked for current drain with an ammeter (A).

It’s perfect now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was about to reassemble the fairing and start the engine, but then it overflowed.
Classic old bike stuff.

Once I drained the gas from the float chamber, it was fixed. It’s a bit rusty though… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Same as the image above, but… it came back again…
So I’m going to replace the cylinder. Back and forth we go… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I replaced the key cylinder assembly and finished up.

This key isn’t compatible with the others, so now I’m stuck with two keys.
