Well, the 100V cordless series is nearing the finish line.
When I fiddle around with the Makita app… there’s a trimmer!

Until now I’ve been chamfering with the RP2301FC, which is ridiculously large and robust.
But it’s in the way when not in use,
and it has way too much power, which is a bit scary, and if something goes wrong the workpiece flies off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compact and small, and successfully cordless!

Here’s the overall look.

Well, I don’t use it for woodworking, but I’ll introduce it anyway.
The handle is also robust, and it seems to be a model made with quite limited specifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reliable metal body and parts… very necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has rotation speed adjustment. Levels 1 through 5, with a maximum of 30,000 min\u207b\u00b9 high rotation (5).
Well, I think I’ll only use level 1… but it’s amazing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scale on the protrusion amount is super important.
For chamfering, I gradually cut 0.3mm at a time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you press this button, it becomes free and you can move the bolt up and down freely.
*Makes the initial protrusion adjustment easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stopper bolt length also comes in 3 stages. It has a click feel while rotating and is adjustable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bit replacement is possible with just one 22mm wrench.
If you align the lock with the hole position and press it with your finger, it locks.
You can also hold it with the wrench without using the lock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I get annoyed, I tape things like the wrench and stuff that might cause problems later right from the start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also change the height of the body by releasing the lock lever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, if you release the lock on the body housing, you can remove just the motor section at the tip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It separates like this.
It’s great for cleaning and such, and you can also adjust the height at this clamp position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The body has positioning slits so it only goes in one way.

There are also scales engraved on it. It seems to be a model where height adjustment is possible at various points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My usage method is irregular\u2014I use it upside down like this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you use it like this, the workpiece will fly off, so you need to secure it to a vise or milling machine bed.
I’m reusing the board I used for my previous trimmer-modified chamfering tool, but wood or even a cutting board works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t protrude it this much.
I use this protruding bit as a tool by pressing board material against it to chamfer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might ask if it’s okay for woodworking, but surprisingly there are carbide ones too, and since it’s just chamfering, you can use it without worrying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bits are normally available even from Monotaro. And as you’d expect from a woodworking tool, the diameter and shape variety of bits is extremely rich.
You won’t have trouble getting replacement blades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
