I’m in the camp that believes basic tools should be simple and minimal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since everyone has their own way of using and collecting tools, it’s good to respect the philosophy that works for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I only own open-end wrenches 22mm and larger.
I wonder if I’m the only one who thinks small open-end wrenches aren’t really necessary… <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Combination wrenches – 2 sets <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanners need to be doubled up sometimes, so 2 pieces are essential.
Working backwards from that…
Even with 1 open-end wrench and 2 double-ended spanners, the total count increases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there are many different philosophies, the basic configuration should be minimal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What matters is not the quantity of tools but how often you use them <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tools that are almost specialty items keep getting released all the time.
Even when you think “Wow, that looks super convenient!” those situations are almost never needed.
I can’t tell you how many tools have just become toolbox clutter…

It’s better to quickly dispose of tools you don’t use.
Most of the time you forget you even have them or where you put them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the day, I dreamed of shiny \u2728 tools. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I admired shiny tools from companies like S and M, and bought them on credit from van sales with my meager salary.
But eventually I shifted toward more practical tools.

Non-slip grip is crucial. That’s how I ended up in the world of matte-finish tools.
