Did everyone manage to stock up on genuine parts before October?
The prices were already ridiculously high, and now they’re going even higher… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stocked up on rocker arms, slippers, clutch cables, gaskets, and more, so I’m feeling secure. (Just for my own bike though) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices won’t be coming down from here on out.
It’s definitely a good idea to write out what you need all at once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuel petcock <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fuel petcocks are usually Mikuni brand.
Since they’re standard parts, cross-compatibility is possible based on mounting pitch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, some models have extremely tight layouts, so caution is needed.
OEM petcocks are a wonderful item\u2014just swap them out directly.
Aftermarket petcocks can be tricky due to layout issues and tank-side modifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the internal resin of an OEM petcock deteriorates, the movement suddenly becomes stiff.
It’s a good idea to replace it before that happens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cover gaskets <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For left and right engine cover gaskets, reproductions might eventually come out.
Oil-cooled models use molded rubber gaskets.
I find it hard to imagine reproductions coming out for those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Might remove the head cover? If you’re thinking about cam replacement or valve adjustment, it’s good to have a complete set on hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grommets <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Motorcycles use various sizes of grommets (dampers) in their fairings.
Some are model-specific, while others are common across multiple models.

After all, they’re just rubber, and they’ll definitely harden over time.
It’s good to have a complete set for your bike on hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key set <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is pretty niche.
You might think, “Really? Even the keys?”
Having one key versus multiple keys makes a huge difference.

It’s probably outdated to mention now, but if you’re currently using two or three keys, replacement is a good option.
Though they probably won’t come out anyway… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throttle, clutch, and choke cables <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These are probably mostly discontinued too.
There are some aftermarket reproduction cables available, so you’ll need to choose carefully.
By the way, reproductions won’t be made forever just for you.

If you think you might replace them, it’s good to get them while you can. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axle shafts and pivot shafts <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This might be a bit tough too.
However, there are aftermarket chromoly shafts available these days, so substitution is possible.
For pivot shafts, it might be a bit challenging, so cross-compatibility based on length and diameter is essential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hub dampers <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re going to keep using OEM wheels, you definitely want to stock hub dampers.
If these stop being made, all you can do is shim them and make do… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve scribbled all this down hastily, but the more you worry, the more things come to mind.
Maybe I should just give up and switch to a current model…
Also, I think it’s good to judge how many more years you’ll ride your current bike and stock accordingly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
