Today we’re doing the prep work on the carburettor (*’\u25bd’)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As always, I’m not sure why I keep making careless mistakes when ordering parts… ( \uff1b\u2200\uff1b)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

BS34 BST\u2014the ancestor of carburetors.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s a legendary carb that was also used on the Z1000J and GS1000S-2.
I think the very last model was the XJR1200 with a TPS…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember putting together a Mihara Specialty full power kit back then\u2014good times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Older carburetors have a lot of parts.
And they’re ridiculously full of co-tightened fasteners, co-tightened fasteners, co-tightened fasteners…
This one’s still okay since the idle mixture screws aren’t lock-type.

The Anniversary models, though…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storing them in square containers pretty much guarantees you won’t mix things up.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You don’t have to worry about them tipping over, and there’s virtually zero chance of parts getting mixed up.
It’s a way to reduce the risks of sloppy storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re paying special attention to cylinders 1 and 4.\u2606<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just cleaning up the side profile of the carburettor makes it look so much younger.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
