There are definitely motorcycles where the center stand is hard to deploy. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are tricks to how you deploy it, but actually, fundamentally? <\/strong>There are often more issues than you’d think. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you can’t do it well, the center stand itself might be the problem. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Assume both stands are in contact with the ground.
Between left and right, the stand has a difference in stroke <\/strong>before it becomes fully upright. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More stroke = lifting a lot <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That’s the thing. In short, heavy, difficult, and awkward all at once. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Racing stands are the same (*\u00b4\u8278`) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you can’t get it up without stepping on it, <\/strong>the height is wrong. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there’s a benefit like tire warmers or wheel removal convenience, that’s different. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If lowering it one or two notches doesn’t change work convenience, there’s no point in having a tall stand, and it only increases the chance of tipping the bike when deploying the stand… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bet oh! <\/strong>quite a few people have experienced that? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there’s no point, lower is definitely better. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wheel installation is just a hassle. As low as possible is best.


Let’s get back to the center stand… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By design, some center stands have a reclined angle. <\/strong>
If there’s plenty of clearance in how much the rear lifts when the stand is deployed, shortening it might be okay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, if the center stand angle is off, honestly you just have to get the hang of it. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laying a pen down and standing it up might help you visualize it.
