Today the throttle is super heavy, so I’m converting it to low-ratio and replacing the throttle cable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I went with Active brand products (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I actually removed the throttle cable, it measured about 830mm…
800mm won’t reach when the handlebars are turned, and 900mm is too long.
For hose routing to look clean, \u00b130-50mm is really the limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 850mm doesn’t exist, I ordered an adjustable throttle cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outer length \u2013 Inner length = Effective length<\/span><\/strong>
If you don’t keep this in mind
and use “two cable adjusters~”<\/strong>the routing can get messed up, so be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t really like this type of cable because it bulks up under the tank, but this time there’s no choice.
*Just personal preference.
I prefer simple bikes with no unnecessary parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mid-size and smaller bikes are better with high-ratio.

More wraps means lighter throttle action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is the stopper position off…? I was puzzled and even wondered if the holder was wrong
but it seems the throttle sleeve angle and FCR balance are misaligned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When fully open, the return side hits the stopper, so I filed it down.

I had to make a convex rod and tap it in.
Actually, installing is harder than removing…
The one-piece Kijima is still the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When installing, I have to hold it in my hand and tap it in.
If I tap too hard it gets stuck again, so it’s tap-and-check repeatedly\u2014getting it just right is surprisingly tricky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That completes the throttle sleeve and cable replacement.
It feels nice and light now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The air valve was long, so I thoughtfully ordered a shorter one, but…
the lock nut won’t go down far enough\u2014no air can get in.

I could remove the lock nut, but that’s a bit of a hassle…
