The spring rate changes dramatically depending on the mounting position and angle of the rear shock.
I really appreciate how much more manageable a monoshock is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s good to know the limited stroke range too.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That’s the usable range of the suspension.
It obviously won’t move beyond the stroke limit. The point is that you can only use the spring within that stroke range.

Within that, you can play around by adjusting preload, swapping springs, and tuning to your preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Togashi shock adjusts preload via clip position too?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It has such an interesting design that you’d be missing out not to use it.
You can quickly apply about 5mm of preload here.

It’s also effective when using shorter or longer springs. Well, just a little bit…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, as a manufactured product, there are tolerances. I’m not sure what percentage that is…
If it were way off, that would be a problem, but when I measure it with a spring tester…

I get numbers like, hmm, about this much? Probably. It’s fine, but… somehow knowing about it doesn’t sit right with me?

This time I went with 2.52 kg\/mm. (Probably 2.5 kg\/mm)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Single-rate springs are easier to manage, but lately I’ve been thinking that \u00d6hlins really knows what they’re doing with their variable-rate setup…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
