Racers from the 70s and 80s superbike era
came with rear fenders. (It was required by regulation.)


They weren’t fenderless. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hmm… Racers had rear fenders too? <\/strong>
Well, they were based on production bikes, so of course they did, and there must have been some great regulations in place back then.

And that’s what made them cool, right? Like painting the headlight on a racer to look cool? Kind of doesn’t make sense, but… my mind is always all over the place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To remove and throw away such a beautiful structure… what a waste… (*\u00b4\u8278`) <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

So that’s how I’ve come to always be a stock fender person. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I don’t even tilt the license plate angle up; I leave it as is.
Including the mud guard function, I think it’s a wonderful design. (*\u00b4\u0437`) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resin base, U-shaped with ribs, lightweight and sturdy. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Compared to aftermarket aluminum fenderless designs, it’s quite durable, <\/strong>including resistance to vibration buzz.
Well, you can’t break it even if you try <\/strong>… because it’s flexible.

Yet it can handle a decent amount of weight, and you can safely hang cargo hooks on it.
I don’t think there’s anything better than this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ‘racer-like’ thing people talk about\u2014is it about looking sparse? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I get wanting to make safety parts smaller… <\/strong>but
even if you shorten the rear fender, the license plate still goes on it… <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huh? Um… maybe it looks racer-like? Probably.
That’s the feeling I go with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I just don’t like that whole ‘buy it and swap this out’ mentality in the first place.
It’s more about extending what’s lacking! That’s my image.
*Swapping things out for fun is fine too, but I’d like people to treasure individuality. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though it’s now out of production, there used to be a long fender you could remove this plus piece and co-bolt on. (Inazuma 750)
Probably a world almost nobody understands? Longer rear fenders are better…
