The best part I’ve replaced on the Inazuma 1200? The limiter cut.
It doesn’t just remove the speed limiter\u2014it dramatically restores the lost feel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carburettor seemed so clogged it ran terribly. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I first got it, I thought “Yeah, this definitely needs carburettor work” <\/strong>
The exhaust note had no snap, the acceleration felt bad, and starting was rough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I installed a hidden gem plasma booster from my collection to make it somewhat better. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order was backwards, but I advanced the ignition timing and finished with the limiter cut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The improvement in feel is clearly noticeable (*\u00b4\u0437`) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s always the question of placebo, so I extended the harness and installed and removed it about ten times to confirm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s probably a change anyone can feel\u2014or at least should be able to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhaust note is thicker and the acceleration feel is more refined <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The change feels huge, but that’s only because the baseline was so bad. This oil-cooled test bike might have been an extremely restricted unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s been talk that Suzuki’s limiter cut has just been a resistor since back then.
Some people say you can make one for a few hundred yen… but

when you factor in the time and effort to source the box, connector, and resistor and assemble it, buying one is cheaper.
When comparing making\/fixing versus buying, you have to factor in price plus time.
It’s tough if you think your time is free… (\u00b4\u03c1`) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The limiter cut grew legs! <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You should avoid just slapping parts on the bike with double-sided tape or cable ties.
The finish ends up looking rough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The limiter cut connector is located under the tank <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And it’s in an annoying spot…
This bike has a ridiculous amount of harness\u2014why?? I wonder every time.
The stock layout is honestly a mess. *Including the GS1200SS <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was able to mount it cleanly next to the fuse box ~ (\u03a6\u03c9\u03a6) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, access to the fuse box is still easy (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Install aftermarket parts to boost performance without sacrificing serviceability. That’s important (\u30fb\u00b4\u0437`\u30fb) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing I forgot to mention\u2014extend the harness! (*’\u25bd’) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For parts like this, bike shops struggle with installation labor.
Since the part itself is cheap, it’s hard to charge for labor.

But I think
you should ask: “Do you want a sloppy cheap install or a solid one worth the price?”
A poor installation will definitely lead to regret… or so I think.
