Thanks to the expressway… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The miles rack up fast! \u266a Lately I’m grateful for it.

I’ve noticed that Sunday afternoons the expressway is surprisingly clear,
so I’ve started making it a habit to wrap up work quickly and head out on Sunday afternoons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more I ride it, the more I notice its shortcomings \u2013 this Inazuma 1200. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An awkward position (\u30fb\u00b4\u0437`\u30fb) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The balance between the seat, pegs, and tank isn’t really to my liking.
It’s hard to grip the tank with your knees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The handlebar could be a bit closer and lower for easier riding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I shouldn’t compare it to the CB1100 (SC65), but Honda really is amazing! <\/strong>That’s what I think every time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good relationship between oil temperature and oil pressure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even when the outside temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius, highway cruising keeps it around 90 degrees.
The oil pressure sits at about 4\u20136 kg, which is reassuring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But once I get off the highway, the oil temperature climbs rapidly.
When it approaches 100 degrees, the oil pressure drops to just over 1 kg at idle (the oil gets thin, so pressure drops).
What I notice every time is high oil temperature and low oil pressure <\/strong>\u2013 the more extreme these conditions become, the harsher the environment for the engine, don’t you think? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintaining stable oil pressure might actually be the secret to keeping it running well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stubbornly \u266a keeping the stock muffler (*’\u25bd’) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s quiet, and surprisingly “Doo-doo\u266a” <\/strong>the deep bass is pleasant.
Maybe it’s opened up a bit? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has good low-end torque, and city riding is peaceful. <\/strong>
I’m getting old… I think to myself, and I’ve come to appreciate stock… that’s the age I’m at. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking closely, the color is kind of odd?

It’s a half-hearted color, but lately I don’t really hate it.
Subtly it’s a color scheme that could exist on an import bike <\/strong>, you know? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s good about the Inazuma 1200… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nobody looks at it, and nobody calls out to me (*’\u25bd’) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That’s the best! \u266a It’s a completely unremarkable, low-key bike.
