Lately I’ve been trying not to take on just anything and everything.

So what if the throttle wire is discontinued? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If there’s a repro, it’s still easier.
If the repro is sound, that would be good, but…
You can’t know until you install it? That happens a lot. *I basically don’t trust them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either adapt something from a similar model?
Or install a throttle kit type setup?

There’s no other choice. The convenience of OEM supply is truly appreciated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re going to install a throttle kit type setup? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The OEM is integrated with the switch box, so you’ll need to replace the switch as well.
If there’s a model-specific switch set available, that’s great, but if not, you’ll need to modify it. You need the bike’s wiring diagram and the wiring diagram of the switch you’re adapting.
If you don’t have them, we won’t take the job\u2014that’s absolutely the safe approach. (\u30fb\u00b4\u0437`\u30fb) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, you check the throttle spool diameter and select something close to it, or your ideal spool diameter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You select the throttle wire length and plan the layout.
The OEM switch box is well designed. OEM can route the wire with a tighter radius without stressing it\u2014the engineering is excellent.
Getting the play change and return to be as smooth as stock, with left-right cuts, is surprisingly tricky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t set it up properly, it’ll be pretty disappointing. (*\u00b4\u0437`) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I occasionally see bikes where someone says they’ve installed an aftermarket carburetor.

When you turn the throttle on those bikes with the engine off…
The throttle won’t return in the straight position? Is that okay?
There’s no throttle stopper either\u2014is that fine?
The throttle wire is so long it’s held up with tons of cable ties\u2014is that alright?
And the layout is super unnatural\u2014is that okay? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you care or not is up to each person, so I can’t say…
If you want to do it right, you’ll need considerable trial and error, so parts and labor costs add up. *We don’t do it, so you should have a custom shop install it.

If you’re going with an aftermarket throttle, parts-wise you need
\u2022 Throttle sleeve
\u2022 Throttle holder
\u2022 Throttle wire A\/B
\u2022 Switch box
at minimum. Just these run several tens of thousands of yen, plus labor.
With OEM throttle and clutch wires, you just swap them out\u2014a few thousand yen at most (per piece).
