Just because the motorcycle frame comes in one type doesn’t mean that’s all there is.
When you think about how you want your bike to be, the changes that follow become even more enjoyable.

Rather than just winging it, I think it’s important to really savor even the small details\u2014like tap water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you who clicked thinking that, let me tell you about the creation process.
*Please note: our shop does not take on this kind of work, so don’t ask. (You’ve got to do it yourself.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, get your hands on an SD Artis GS1000 FRP seat base. <\/a>
You’ll finish it up using that as your main foundation.

Next:
Have the seat shop pile on the foam generously ( \uff9f\u0414\uff9f)
Foam comes in all kinds of hardness levels. It’s a good idea to feel out the difference yourself\u2014whether you want it harder or softer than what you have now\u2014before you consult with the shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next:
Mount the seat on the bike and start cutting and shaping it.
Even if you cut too much, you can always glue more on, so don’t hesitate\u2014just go for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next:
Get the design roughly right, then consider how it matches with the pegs and handlebars and take it for a test ride.
This is really important\u2014you can fine-tune the seat’s front rise, flatness, foam hardness, and foot placement. There might not be a more fun time than this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next:
Once it’s looking pretty good, take it to the seat shop to discuss foam shaping and the cover material. The finish line is in sight, but there are so many cover options that you might feel overwhelmed\u2014just push through without losing heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temporary seat and the finished seat will feel slightly different.
Honestly, you can always fine-tune it again if you want, so keep refining it and it becomes really fun.

By doing this kind of work, you create your own unique bike\u2014something totally different from just bolting on parts you bought off the shelf.
