Now that the parts have arrived, I’m going to move forward steadily ( *\u00b4\u8278\uff40)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

First, I’ll replace the OEM PJ\/MJ\/sleeve and such with new ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are the O-rings and sleeves for the accelerator pump nozzle system that aren’t listed in the parts manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are common with TM and RS models and such. It’s a good idea to source them from an aftermarket carburettor that has proper parts listings.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this is acting up, the surrounding area will always get dirty, so definitely do it during an OH!

The accelerator pump nozzle has a direction.
Point it firmly toward the intake port in the direction that makes it spray nicely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m installing an aftermarket Mikuni float valve.
The gasoline supply ON\/OFF feel is absolutely top-notch (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)

Honestly, I wonder if there’s any point to installing a new OEM metal type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then after confirming the actual fuel level, I run gasoline through it and let it sit for a while.

Normally you wouldn’t do that, but this carburettor is so scary\u2014you worry where it might leak from. You have to stay vigilant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil is probably old, so I’m forcing an oil change. And I’m forcing the oil filter to be swappable with the same filter used on the 1100\/1200, GSX-R1000, and Hayabusa by replacing the union.

We don’t stock such a specialized oil filter. By replacing it, you’ll be able to get one smoothly anytime, anywhere.

I went with Shell Advance Ultra 15W-50 for the oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give you an idea of the size difference . . . it’s about one or two sizes bigger . . .

If the drain bolt looks dirty, go ahead and replace it!
It doesn’t cost much.
You’ll definitely feel better about the replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Convert an open-type battery to MF (maintenance-free)\u2014the amazing Pro Battery.
At this price, I think it’s fine to replace it every 2-3 years.<\/a>

And get this\u2014a shocking 2-year warranty . . . it’s amazing ( *\u00b4\u8278\uff40)

Also, liquid batteries are pretty much all downside with no upside.
\u2022 Hassle of topping up the liquid
\u2022 Hassle of checking the liquid
\u2022 Breather hose routing
\u2022 Flammable gas (hydrogen) from the breather hose
\u2022 Corrosion around the battery<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dangerous, dirty, and a pain\u2014three strikes (; \uff65`\u0434\uff65\u00b4)
If you realize it’s a liquid battery, just buy and replace it right away!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stick some leftover double-sided foam tape from the Shorai battery under the nut.
In just a few minutes, you’ll eliminate the frustration you’d feel later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes the U-shaped terminal gets loose and needs one side cut.
*I cut it this time too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The generator connector sometimes melts, so if you get a chance, it’s great to check it (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pulled the plugs and cranked it over good and hard, then started the engine! It fired right up, and I was relieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I balanced the carburetors.
Four carbs are easy ( \uff40\u30fb\u2200\u30fb\u00b4)\uff89\uff96\uff9b\uff7c!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
