After switching to 220mm, it touches the wheel in one spot.
Just one spot on the wheel… that’s what cast iron is like, I guess? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caliper seals are ultimately just rubber.

The caliper piston action was stiff, so I spent time working it loose…
but it’s better to just do a full caliper OH and replace the seals\u2014it’s superior both time-wise and functionally.
When it gets old, replace it. That’s the fate of rubber. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The condition was in pretty good shape.
Even if you look at this and think it’s dirty, it’s the same Suzuki Tokico, and on a vehicle that’s been around for over 10 years, it would be much more corroded and the piston action would be extremely stiff.

It’s good to factor into your future plans whether to replace the caliper entirely or do an OH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We cleaned it up with wet blasting.
When you polish with shot, it gets a matte finish and seems less prone to corrosion.

In other words, good condition lasts longer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t have any attachment to the gold color, so I’ll use it with a wet blast finish.

I think the GSXR1000K1-K2 might use the same one, but I have a feeling it’s discontinued?

The aluminum piston and lubrication with anodized coating slide in smoothly\u2014very satisfying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
