I’m a bit guilty of this myself\u2014I get so focused on swapping parts that I overlook everything else.
Adjustments and fitting take a back seat, or maybe they’re not even on my radar to begin with… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you start getting particular about it, you’ll find yourself thinking “just a little more, just a little more.”
If your grip feels awkward or tiring,
adjusting it will make things better and more comfortable. I really encourage you to give it a try. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this position, the stroke feel is minimal but requires more grip strength. (The lever doesn’t give you much mechanical advantage.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this position, you get more stroke feel and need less grip strength. (The lever works great!)

The adjustment range is only about 10\u201315 mm.

But even moving it by a finger’s width makes a big difference in how it feels.
If you’re still riding your bike in its stock setup, I really think you should try adjusting it\u2014it’s fun! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lever position itself has lots of adjustment options too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than just accepting what people say “should” be the case, I’d like you to get it adjusted to suit you.
Someone who’s 160 cm tall and someone who’s 190 cm tall probably need completely different lever positions.

Generally speaking, most people find a position slightly below horizontal works best.
Close your eyes for a moment and imagine holding the handlebars with your hand on the lever.

What position feels most comfortable and lets you apply force most easily?
Small differences like that create big results.
