A hybrid of pipe and hose.
Where layout is tight, use pipe; where there’s room, use hose to create some give and prevent damage\u2014and it helps with cooling too.
Using steel pipe throughout might be better, though… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the installation layout is getting a bit tricky, so I wish there were a better way.
Swap the factory oil cooler for a slim aftermarket one and stack two of them.
Cut the factory oil cooler size in half and split the layout fifty-fifty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t work, but there’s one weird experiment I’d like to try: bypass the oil cooler outlet on the crankcase side.
Run the oil line that normally goes from the case back to the head through the existing oil cooler to cool the head instead\u2014does that make sense?
Since it’s my own bike, I can play around with strange ideas like this, and maybe that’s part of the fun of oil cooling…
