The round oil cooler for the GSX-R is already discontinued.

No matter how large the oil cooler is, it won’t cool if air doesn’t flow through it.
And in winter it tends to overcool.
In a way, running too cool\u2014or not warming up enough\u2014is just as much of a problem as oil temperature running too hot.

Anyway, with oil-cooled engines having so many oil lines, I expect all sorts of problems down the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The oil line running along the back of the head to the cylinder head. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The line is routed through the tight gap between the intake manifolds.
I’ve actually confirmed individual units where oil is seeping from the hose crimp joints.

If you switch to braided line, it gets really bulky.
I’d like to find a way to make these rebuildable somehow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil cooler hose runs close to the exhaust pipe in a harsh environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve actually had this hose develop a hole before.
It was just a tiny hole, but the rear tire got completely covered in oil and I nearly crashed.
If you think motorcycle parts last forever, you’re in for a rude awakening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You also need to think ahead about what to do if the oil cooler itself gets damaged.
