The replating and bottom case have arrived, so I’m going to assemble them quickly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Since I haven’t come up with an attachment for the fork spring tester yet…
I’ll measure it lightly and calculate the rate from the average. It should be 7.5 N\/mm… probably. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The preload is the rotary type (the kind where the adjuster doesn’t move up and down).

It’s a system that operates with threads and grooves cut into the inner core. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something popped out of the cartridge… oh, that was close.

Don’t rush, really. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always use Toyo Hardening for plating, they’re reliable.

They handle the dimensions and even correct any bending, so I’m really grateful.
I can’t send replating work anywhere else… that’s how much confidence I have in them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bottom case was painted by the customer’s designated painter.

It’s so beautifully done that I’m thinking of asking them to do work for me too… it’s that impressive.
They made it look like a Yoshimura Showa 41mm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil seals are assembled with low-friction fluorine grease.
It should last longer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bled the cylinder and set the oil level to the specified height (100 mm) after pulling a vacuum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I assembled one side, the preload was incredibly high… that’s the feeling.
Since preload adjustment is part of the job, I cut a bit and adjusted it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The axle runout is within spec, but it’s unusual to see the front have a little runout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that’s how it’s finished.
This cartridge kit had a bit of a quirk to the assembly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
