Since the 21st century, I feel the line between counterfeit, repro, and replica has become harder to draw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some products that come to market are genuinely appreciated, while others are confusing.

It’s extremely difficult to say where safe ends and illegal begins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Y brand vintage racing parts are still going strong. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Y brand parts remain popular to this day.
If they were reissued, that would be great\u2014there are quite a few items like that, aren’t there?

Engine covers like the one in the top image are truly appreciated.
Suzuki OEM parts have gone up in price too, so if Suzuki discontinues them but someone keeps making them, that would be incredibly helpful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camshafts have been out of stock for a while, but they’re one of those items I’d love to see kept in production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calling it genuine\u2014is that illegal? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That’s completely illegal.
You see quite a few counterfeits on Mercari and Yahoo Auctions.

Since they’re imitating current-model OEM parts, I can’t tell what’s what with products outside my area of interest. It’s risky, really risky.
I picked up something labeled as an Akrapovic type once, and it was actually pretty well made.

With such a rich lineup available these days, telling them apart would be even harder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appreciated-type products <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Popular Y brand type catch tanks are great, aren’t they?
I wonder why the original maker doesn’t sell them… it seems like such a waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Backsteps and similar items still seem to have demand, so I’d love to see them reissued if the timing works out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumers are selfish, and there are issues with batch sizes and storage space, so it’s not easy.
But if producers limited runs or quantities and took pre-orders, I think both makers and consumers could have a better relationship.
The premium feeling might diminish, but wouldn’t more people get to experience and enjoy that quality?
