Getting stricter lately."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/DSC02397-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/DSC02397-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/DSC02397-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/DSC02397-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/DSC02397-1200x800.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/DSC02397.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inspection system is a business opportunity, so I personally welcome it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, inspectors have been getting younger (or maybe I&#8217;m just getting older), and the scary, unfriendly types from the old days are nowhere to be found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s just the way times change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lately I get the impression that more meticulous inspectors are showing up. *Is that a good thing? <br>They seem to take their time and really dig into anything they can&#8217;t immediately judge during the inspection process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in the day, it was more like &#8220;Yeah, yeah, okay, go on.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motorcycles are subject to all sorts of regulations these days, and I think that&#8217;s influencing the inspections too. <br>Emissions-regulated bikes are pretty tough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you adjust things with an aftermarket sub-controller (depending on how you tune it), it can get pretty strict. <br>Whether you have a gas report matters too, and as time goes on, noise levels can cause you to fail, so I sometimes turn down inspection jobs on very new bikes altogether. <br>I guess the message is: keep new bikes stock? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think this is one reason why classic bikes have become so popular. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Things that used to go unchecked are now being checked. <br>For example: <br>\u2022 Handlebar lock <br>\u2022 Vehicle dimensions\u2014width is absolute, plus height and length <br>\u2022 Key cylinder ON\/OFF\/P\/LOCK positions <br>\u2022 Secondary air reduction system <br>\u2022 Reflector area <br>\u2022 JWL <br>\u2022 Belt to chain conversion <br>\u2022 Drum to disc conversion <br>And the list goes on and on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to avoid risk, so I turn down bikes that seem like they&#8217;ll be impossible to pass.
