Both the back and front are dented.

I grind away the damaged areas pretty thoroughly to make sure there are no impurities.
If they get buried during welding, it becomes a pain later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its age, the weldability is outstanding, which was reassuring.

If I don’t build up too much material, there’s less grinding to do, which makes the work easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I need to focus on smoothing the welded buildup while being careful not to reduce the base material. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought about skipping the finishing on the tip, but I decided to go ahead and finish it anyway. After all, it’s a historical artifact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, I don’t do this kind of repair work professionally.
