A desk drawer won’t open or close.
Are you jiggling it around with a “clatter-clatter” motion instead of actually putting it away? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That “clatter-clatter” is a motion you’ll repeat endlessly as long as you use that desk.
If you take the time to think it through and organize it properly once, you’ll never have to deal with that again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It suddenly occurred to me that motorcycles follow the same principle (*’\u03c9’*) <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

For example, replacing a turn signal and connecting it with a Giboshi connector.

Future work becomes extremely inefficient and labor-intensive, and mistakes are easy to make.
\u2022 Plugging and unplugging is tedious
\u2022 Potential strain on the wiring
\u2022 DIY crimps often come loose
\u2022 Proper insertion requires tools <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By properly trimming the length from the start, adding insulation, and making it into a coupler, you can disconnect it with one hand.
\u2022 Simple appearance and construction
\u2022 Excellent workability
\u2022 Mistakes and problems with connection and disconnection are dramatically reduced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, offsetting with multiple washers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just using multiple washers to get the dimensions right. It sounds good to call it shim adjustment, but that’s not what it is.

\u2022 The offset amount is known only to the person who did it (and it’s questionable whether it’s even a good value)
\u2022 When someone else disassembles it, there’s a risk of losing parts or being unable to restore it
\u2022 Assembly efficiency drops, which increases the possibility of mistakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just need to spin up the lathe and make a spacer.
Or if you’re doing DIY, Kitaco convenience parts <\/a>would work fine too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Basically, you just put in a little extra effort at the beginning.
The result is nothing but good things.
With a simple, efficient appearance, failures and problems are less likely to occur.

On the flip side,
if you cut corners just a little at the start…
then
you end up walking down a path of endless hardship and pitfalls.
Cutting corners always comes back to bite you hard.

Don’t cut corners\u2014build things up simply and steadily. I think that’s all there is to it.
