It’s a bit odd to write this at year-end, but…
next year’s work appointments are difficult to accommodate unless they’re March or later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, we’ve accepted inspections anytime.
However, starting next year, customers without a prior reservation cannot have additional simultaneous work done (oil changes only are possible).
You’ll need to make a new reservation, and work will be rescheduled for a month or later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I realized something…
(today) The work that never seems to decrease even though I manage it by reservation schedule.

What on earth is going on…? I’ve been mulling it over slowly and carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Irregular work is always present.”

Breakdowns and accidents are somewhat unavoidable, I think. Honestly, they don’t happen that often.
But when I think back, if an inspection expires, it troubles both of us, and people do forget things.
“Well, cutting it close is fine…”
I used to think that way, but…<\/p>it’s actually a blind spot. A huge blind spot.\n\n\n\n

The thing is, when an inspection is done at the last minute, all sorts of work gets added to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Since everyone is an adult, I think the natural desire is to get everything done cleanly in one inspection visit.
When I schedule for that,
all the past work and future work shifts sideways in the schedule,
and then the inspection and work get added on top, shifting everything sideways again,
and then breakdowns or accidents come in and shift things sideways once more.
It creates a snowball effect where work never finishes.

A negative Dempsey roll<\/a>keeps playing out day after day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just realized this now…( \uff1b\u2200\uff1b)

And today, based on this year’s invoices, I came up with my own quirky formula
and calculated how many months it would take to process all the work currently on the books…
And when I did…the calculator spit out a number…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March…
Ideally April.
That’s the number it came up with.

Estimate = paid service; Rough quote = free (calculated and provided based on past invoices).
