The cap has an air valve installed, so we let out a little air to atmospheric pressure.

The aftermarket step (with bearings) can be lubricated from the outside.

The air filter and spark plug are clean, so we’ll reuse them.
We also checked the carburettor synchronization.
Vacuum carburetors don’t drift much once they’re adjusted, so it seems like once every 10,000 to 20,000 kilometers should be fine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We check the spark plug gap with a special wooden shim.

When you buy a used motorcycle, it’s a good idea to replace the fuses right away.
You’ll learn where the fuses are, and they’re often surprisingly dirty.

While replacing them won’t have a dramatic effect, it does give you greater peace of mind. They don’t cost much, so always use genuine parts. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Katana’s full power meter costs about 200,000 yen new, so it’s pretty scary.

The socket has a groove carved into it to route the wiring, which takes extra effort.
The lower socket is also triple, and you can feel the care that went into it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically they’re polarity-free, but sometimes there are issues.
All five reversed\u2014now that’s a devil’s draw. I think this is where the saying “look before you leap” comes from. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
