We’ve got so many oil-cooled Katanas in here, I can barely tell which is which. I’ve got to be careful not to mix them up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone’s bikes have slightly different specs, so I can kind of figure out which is which.
There’s a lot of parts to source, so for now I’m going to get them running and send them home for a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

First, I want to replace the engine slider.
It’s bent pretty badly. This is a K-FACTORY one. <\/a>
Moriwaki would be better… Moriwaki… <\/a>

If I can’t source just one part, I end up having to replace the whole thing, or I have to fabricate the broken part. It’s a tough call. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The M10-P1.5 bolt was bent too and wouldn’t come out, so I cut it with a die grinder and pulled it out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The base color is deformed, so I’m going to sand it down until the surface is flat.
I’m working on bringing the back forward to make up for what I’ve removed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m going to create the color with 2017. The lathe was definitely this year’s best buy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made the thick part longer to give it a solid feel. Next up is gun coating.
Even a small part like this costs several thousand yen just for anodizing when you factor in round-trip shipping, and it pushes back the delivery date.

There’s no such thing as an M10-P1.5 bolt that long, so that’s as far as the slider goes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I replaced the cracked turn signal lens.

The fluid leak issue. There’s a serious crack in it… What an impact! (Parts on order) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tank A (the clean one) is going out for paint, so I’m going to transplant the parts to Tank B (the familiar one).
While I was writing this blog, I thought… if I bought another one of these adapters… the one with the O-ring in it… what do you think? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It might be superstition, but I feel like if you put your heart into it, the bike won’t let you down and problems stay minor.

Using a punch like this cuts it clean… though most people don’t have one. I’m crazy, so I’ve got six punchers.

Definitely a chemical you should have on hand.
Unlike the old semi-dry stuff, this cures solid, and it sets faster than typical sealers, so shaping is easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
