The top bridge pinch bolt is super tight. The threads on the bolt side were messed up. I tapped it and got torque on it, so it worked out.
What was going on there? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically I hang and secure it.
Since it’s a clip-on handlebar, I add a shortened 43\u03c6 inner tube to keep it in place (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce

It’s better not to work with things dangling around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grease is already degraded. But the race condition was pretty good overall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll replace the stem bearings with similar retainer-equipped ball bearings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We press them in using a modified hydraulic punch.
No need to bang bang! (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s best to visually confirm that it’s been pressed in properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apply Neutech NC100 grease generously and assemble. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s good to check the upper seal engagement by hand too.
If you tighten the adjustment nut firmly once to break in the lower seal, the later adjustment will be easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The washer was pretty bad, so I made a spacer (;’\u2200’) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s continue with the oil-cooled maintenance work in progress. We replaced the engine damper.
It was more worn than expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These through-bolts are hard to remove, aren’t they? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area under the starter motor was pretty dirty. We also replaced the starter motor O-ring, so you can rest assured. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The generator damper was also worn to the point of rattling.
