Ten years ago you could buy one for 300,000 yen, but now…
When I bought mine it was in the 200,000 yen range. I wish I hadn’t sold it, but there’s no point thinking about that now… (*\u00b4\u03c9\uff40*)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we’ll drain the coolant and get ready.
I made a minor discovery recently.
If you use the “magic can opener Super Kim” I mentioned the other day to remove the back cover, you can make a simple funnel like in the image. <\/a>
Pretty mundane, I know… sorry about that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looks like Honda Red was selected.
The included hose clamps won’t be used. This type with grooves that contact the rubber directly tends to cause tearing, so they’ll be discarded.
The same goes for the carburetor intake manifold clamp. You can easily pick them up at a home center, but… I personally think Norma is the way to go. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me compare them carefully.
They look pretty close, and I have a good feeling it’ll fit smoothly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dimensions are subtly different, but since we’re dealing with hose, the Tremor Fist technique is in effect, so it should work out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some reason, nuts weren’t installed in two places. The pilot hole is about 10 mm, which is a bit large, but… it should be fine. The machined hole diameter is 9.1\u20139.3 mm. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now let’s take a look at the bottom side. This also looks pretty close, which gives me even more confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This also looks close, so I’m relieved. The hose diameter going to the reservoir appears to have increased from 6 mm to 8 mm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just cleaning it up somehow makes it feel like performance has improved\u2014or is that just me? When I see corrosion marks like this, I really think that to keep parts working long-term and prevent failure, the key is to prevent corrosion in the first place. (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce<\/p>\n\n\n\n
