Back in the day, when it came to private sales, there were just a few pages in magazines
or specialized publications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I first discovered and experienced the world of the internet, I was truly amazed.
It can’t compare to today’s convenience, but I was moved by how easy it was to research and learn things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n


I found this service called Yahoo Auctions back then and would click away buying parts and tools.

The images were grainier and there were fewer photos than now, but compared to private sales, it was dramatically easier to verify items, and the speed from transaction to completion was incredibly fast\u2014that was the appeal.

Looking back, personal information was leaking everywhere, all transactions were handled directly between individuals, and Yahoo didn’t get involved.
Morally speaking? Since both parties knew each other’s personal information, maybe neither felt like doing anything wrong. *I did get scammed a small amount myself.

Back then there was no concept of market value, so parts were flowing around at bargain prices\u2014that’s the impression I have.
Still, I never thought old racing parts would lose so much value…

Now let me get to the punchline.

I wanted to list items on Yahoo Auctions too! But apparently I needed to get something called a digital camera.
I had no idea what to buy, so I just picked up a cheap “Muji digital camera” used on Yahoo Auctions. Maybe that was my first camera ever.

Since I only knew about “Fujifilm QuickSnap” when it came to cameras, I used that Muji camera I got and took all sorts of photos.

But I felt something was off. Sure, I didn’t have to go get film developed, but it was kind of a hassle… this digital camera.
Or rather, this camera…
When I tried taking test shots with some other camera in the compact camera section…

The photos I took showed up right away on the screen.
That’s right\u2014the Muji digital camera was cheap because it didn’t have a monitor. That was the surprising thing I learned back then (*\u00b4\u25bd\uff40*)
