The fork oil was a bit dirty. It’s amazing how fork oil really doesn’t get dirty anymore since around the 1990s, you know?

After working the rod up and down, using a vacuum pump to bleed out air will also remove fine air bubbles, so it should improve reliability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I forgot to ask how many kilometers had been ridden.
This Neutech NC100 grease has excellent durability. Even though it’s soft, it doesn’t flow easily even when the frame gets hot, so the grease stays in place well\u2014which means the bearings last longer and the handling stays natural. (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce

We replaced it previously and the condition is excellent, so we’ll reuse it.
If done properly, it should last 30,000 to 50,000 kilometers under normal use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

People occasionally ask what the difference is between tapered and ball bearings, but I think it comes down to preference\u2014or rather, the preference of whoever’s assembling it.
With ball bearings, you can visually confirm that the oil is filling all the way inside, so I prefer using them. (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce<\/p>\n\n\n\n
