A while back, I thought the D-UNIT+ was the strongest thing ever.
Time passes, and similar products from other manufacturers have been coming out.

Every product focuses mainly on the unit itself, and the volume of wiring is unclear.
By the way, every product has wiring that’s surprisingly long at first glance.

Short won’t reach. Long is safe\u2014that’s the theory.
Basically, if you install it without shortening the wiring, it becomes a yakisoba party.

Once installed, it’s probably never removed from that location “Simple and easy to maintain” <\/strong>is the key point.
Electricity is invisible infrastructure. You definitely want to make sure it’s done right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power management items like D-UNIT are essential <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s a very convenient item, but there are quite a few mysterious aspects to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fork-shaped terminal that should be co-tightened to the battery.
Whether to slip it under the terminal nut or not, the directional freedom is…
If it’s directly below the terminal bolt, you’d need a washer.
If it’s sandwiched on the terminal, the contact area decreases.

Basically, it’s better not to use it as-is…

The approximately 3sq is a drawback considering layout flexibility.
The D-UNIT WR MINI can supply up to 20A, but it comes with unnecessarily thick 3SQ wiring.
With this capacity, 2SQ would be more than sufficient.

I suspect they made it thicker and bulkier considering the possibility of routing it all the way to the headlight area.
But
you shouldn’t route it that far away <\/span><\/strong>
If you place a fuse upstream of this red lead (closest to the battery), it’s safe.
However, I think fewer people actually do this.
Co-tightening to the battery + (constant power) is risky\u2014if the insulation breaks and contacts ground, it’s a disaster.
It will discharge rapidly until the battery is empty, and most likely it will catch fire… <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The golden rule is to keep it as short as possible and mount it near the battery.
Basically, there’s almost no point in making it thick and long… ( \uff1b\u2200\uff1b) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reducing disconnect actions and improving visibility makes future maintenance easier.
Using this with the original Giboshi connectors… do you use them?
DIY crimped terminals “Male and female Giboshi connectors usually come loose during disconnection” <\/span><\/strong>
It would be easier if they came as 110 connectors from the start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think it’s better to minimize Giboshi connections as much as possible <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make a plate and mount it securely\u2014

And if possible, avoid fixing the back with nuts.
When you proceed with work in a way that reduces the number of tools needed, things get easier and easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all my rambling, it’s currently the most compact and powerful power management item.
Only three circuits? No way
7.5A\u00d72 & 5A\u00d71, so you can use as many outlets as you want within capacity.
