There’s quite a bit going on, and things aren’t progressing as smoothly as I’d imagined.
Lately it’s been like this every time, which is a bit tough.

If I do it right once, the rest should be easier, right? That’s the spirit I’m working with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The tires were just replaced, so that was reassuring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The disc has plenty of thickness left and there are no issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I cleaned the disc and cleaned and lubricated the chain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wheel runout looks good too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I adjusted the wheel bearings. The front one was especially tight.
Bearings are really durable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The axle shaft runout was fine too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I disassembled and cleaned the speedometer gear and cleaned and lubricated the speedometer cable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s some corrosion on the inside of the inner tube. When we do the OH, replating or replacement will be essential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I bled the front fork, I heard that “whoosh” sound for the first time in a while.
It’s like fresh oil after all this time, you know?
I cleaned and lubricated the inner tubes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The caliper is now clean after the OH. The bolts are a bit rusty, so I’ll go with Yamaha’s hollow bolts. Steel bolts are really the best after all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yamaha has really beautiful details on the small parts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I removed the A\/F sensor and blanked it off.
These days there are responsive wideband sensors and compact A\/F monitors available, so switching to one of those could be fun too. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t usually check for forced opening, but I made sure to check it this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we’ve progressed, various things have come up, and I’ve taken care of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turn signal relay is definitely a Daytona choice. Daytona relays are the best.
First, they’re affordable, usually just plug-and-play, and can be mounted in the same location as the original. <\/a>
They handle up to 100W, so hazard lights are no problem either.
It’s really just a swap, so it’s fantastic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It fits right in the same spot like this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It even comes with an adapter connector, so it’s really thoughtful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has directional dampers so it can work with various manufacturers and models.
You can use an IC turn signal relay even if the turn signals are still bulbs.
The response when you activate it is better, and there’s no clicking sound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On older bikes, just swapping out the turn signal relay for a Daytona one makes a real difference. <\/a>
We’re almost done with the remaining work.
