This is the GSX-R1100 that’s been stalled since around August 10th.
I was a bit hesitant about the abundance of DIY-installed parts (just kidding).

With Obon holidays and all, let’s make steady progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

It’s turning out quite sharp.

Proper handling of the multi-tap gives peace of mind. Multi-taps (electro-taps) are not a recommended electrical component. <\/a>
Some people say that when you purchase electrical parts, they’re included with instructions to use them as directed.
The seller’s stance seems to be that as long as it can be installed, functions, and has no problems afterward, that’s fine.
However, I don’t think they give much thought to serviceability (efficiency of attachment and detachment) or harness damage.
I’m not sure what to believe anymore… The reality is that the world is full of difficult things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I unwound the tape… oh no, it was just wrapped up.
The terminals would come right out if you pulled the Giboshi connector. Maybe that’s why they wanted to replace the harness. (Already taken care of) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keeping wiring as short as possible when feasible makes things look neat and reduces the risk of pinching and breakage. It’s just a lot of work, but I always have this nagging temptation to cut corners… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a small detail, but motorcycles have steering (handlebars) that move and turn, so there’s always the potential for contact and pinching in various places.
The same goes for the rear swingarm area, but keeping an eye on these things will definitely boost your peace of mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you buy an oil-cooled bike, the generator connector is one of the first things you should check. Sure enough, it was melted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The color will be white, but I’ve rebuilt it fresh including the terminals.
When making changes like this, I think it’s good etiquette to keep the shape standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m replacing the spark plugs. Iridium plugs were installed.
Iridium plugs are extremely vulnerable to fouling (getting wet). Once they foul, they rarely recover through self-cleaning.

Overflow can happen at odd times regardless of tuning, so keeping that risk in mind will help you enjoy your motorcycle more peacefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the intended use, I sometimes drop the heat range and use an 8.
Changing the heat range based on conditions can lead to unexpected discoveries.
Since the plug cord has changed, I’ll install an aluminum plug terminal NT4245. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pro battery has been getting really good reviews lately.
When you think about it, we’ve gone through quite a few battery changes over the years.
AC Delco \u2192 WESTCO \u2192 Pro battery. If you’re not using lithium, gel is definitely the way to go! I think AGM batteries offer excellent reliability. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putting double-sided tape sponge under the battery terminal nuts dramatically improves serviceability. Pre-charging it gets it started with a full charge, so that’s reassuring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve replaced the meter illumination with LED. <\/a>It’s from Amazon, but the build quality is solid and I keep them on hand.
I checked the fuse and it looks new, so I’ll reuse it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TMR41-MJN is installed and the funnel won’t come off.
The large funnel has a groove cut in it, so I’ll remove it with a hook wrench. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

57001-1100 is a Kawasaki special tool. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall it’s pretty worn, so let’s send it in for an overhaul when the time comes. It takes nearly two months, which is a bit rough… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throttle cable and throttle holder configuration.
Basically, when the throttle is OFF, the throttle should always make firm contact with the stopper on the holder side.


In this state, it’s held by the balance between throttle pull and return. It’s not really unusable. I personally find the feel a bit mushy when the throttle is off, which bothers me a little.
This is something you could also consider when doing a carburettor overhaul. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceramic compound is the best for polishing the screen. <\/a>
You’ll be amazed at how clean it gets. It’s not difficult to use at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
