I’ve never seen an M model before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, the customer wants to upgrade the rear disk to 220mm, so let’s look at the parts they brought in and figure this out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Do you know about that? Everyone? Super niche, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m guessing the R doesn’t stand for Racing but rather a sequence number, you know? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one… is in pretty rough condition, honestly.
The GSF1200 220mm upgrade from the other day <\/a>has more material, so it’s actually more reassuring in various ways.

Let’s use this lightweight rear caliper support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we heat it in the oven and press out the bushings. It’s tedious to get them off flush. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When parts are dirty, your mood suffers, so we did a full wet blast polish from bare metal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we removed the wheel, we gave it a quick no-touch cleaning. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made two press-fit collars.
I need to do something about the lathe’s internal boring tool…

I wish I’d pushed the outer snap ring a bit more…

By the way, this one has been upgraded to a rigid torque rod, so please note. *Don’t use this caliper as-is on a GSX-R. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
