When I look at other people’s blogs (and I do the same thing myself),
hmm!
I notice whether they’re shooting from far away or up close. Am I the only one who thinks about this?
People are interesting creatures\u2014when we’re confident, we tend to shoot close-ups and end up taking a lot of photos.
But when we’re thinking, “Oh no, I’m not confident about this,” we shoot from a distance and snap just one or two shots.

Even as I’m writing this, I find myself nodding along: yep, yep, yep!

If you look at blogs and photos from this perspective, it’s actually pretty fun, so give it a try.
It’s especially interesting with custom work.

I think what the owner really wants to see is a close-up showing how well it’s finished.
What was going on inside where you can’t see from the outside? That sort of thing.
These days it’s easier to share updates, which is nice.

But the technician has their own feelings and circumstances too, so let’s try to understand gently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in high school, I took my bike to a shop for repairs and I remember thinking…

Even after it was done, it didn’t seem to run that well.
“Did they really do the work?

There’s a trust relationship between the shop and the customer. Ideally the performance shows results, but if there’s no change and the explanation is too thin, you start to worry.

If we do our best to keep the person requesting the work\u2014the customer\u2014informed about what we’re doing, their confidence goes up, right? They can understand why the cost is what it is, and everyone ends up happy! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
